It's with a heavy heart that we are announcing, as of today, that our main galleries will be closed to the public with a tentative plan to re-open April 6th. Additionally, we are committing 60% of all new reciprocal memberships to relief for service industry folks until April 6th.

Mobile, AL: Alabama Contemporary Art Center is shifting the way we connect through the arts in this time of social distancing. With mass cancellations and our doors closed we’ve had to rethink how we fulfill our mission, and figure out new ways to meet the community where they are. We are starting by re-allocating funds for small commissions of artwork to send to people who need a little light in their life right now.

At ACAC, we are rolling back any commitments to an opening date. My top priority is keeping our staff and supporters safe. As much as we miss you all and would love to throw open our doors, there is simply no level of health risk that I find an acceptable trade for admission. Until we are sure that we can open safely while protecting our front of line staff and patrons, we won't make a return announcement.

Crank up the band, light the sparkles and get your masks and sanitizer ready, we're re-opening!

ALABAMA ARTS ORGANIZATIONS RECEIVE $60,000 FROM THE WARHOL FOUNDATION TO DISTRIBUTE EMERGENCY RELIEF GRANTS

Mobile, AL—Alabama Contemporary Art Center (ACAC) is pleased to announce they have been approved to receive an American Rescue Plan grant from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) to help the arts and cultural sector recover from the pandemic.

The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts names Alabama Contemporary as only Alabama Awardee for Spring 2022 cycle, Program Support will fund exhibitions and programs over the next 2 years

Alabama Contemporary is Taking it to the Street! We are embarking on an ambitious redevelopment project that will ultimately make the contemporary art museum more sustainable, increase impact and generate more equitable opportunities for artists across the state of Alabama.

Alabama Contemporary, with support from the Rodning and Comer families, is pleased to announce the construction of a twenty foot by forty foot open air education pavilion at AC Satellite to be named the Mary Rodning Arts Education Pavilion.
