the Teaching Artist Project is a partnership between Alabama Contemporary Art Center, Mobile Arts Council and Mobile Museum of Art.
The Teaching Artist Project (TAP) is a hiring engine. It’s designed to help artists in the gig economy share their practice and fold arts education into community programs. TAP artists get access to free training programs, and meet-ups center around resource sharing, news in the field of arts education, and community building.
ACAC, Mobile Arts Council, and Mobile Museum of Art hire artists as independent contractors to teach classes and workshops in every discipline. We hire artists for outreach programs, the school system and in the museum and art studio settings. TAP is designed to connect you with paid teaching opportunities based on your practice.
