Wednesdays, 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. Instructor: Zak Todd In this class artist Zak Todd will guide you through the process of transforming your sketches into unique finished illustrations. This course will focus on character design, environment, and portraiture.

Saturdays, 2 - 4:30 p.m. Instructor: Cherrelle Smith Tap into and explore your “laisse couler” energy – a French creole phrase for ‘let it flow’– with local artist Cherrelle Smith. With acrylic paint, we will explore techniques, textures, and tones as we enjoy creating art from within.

Tuesdays, 5:30 p.m. - 7 p.m. Instructor: Soynika Edwards-Bush This 4-week workshop is focused on an hour of experimenting with paint and portraiture in a judge free environment. Former ACAC Artist-in-Residence Soynika Edwards-Bush will take students through the creative process from concept to finished piece.

Kindred Yoga will join us on the terrace at ACAC on the last Saturday morning of every month, from 9-10 a.m. This drop-in session will feature a 45-minute yoga flow followed by 15 minutes of mingling with fresh, cold-pressed juices for sale from Ginger & Spice.

This is a monthly, drop-in life drawing open studio session with a live nude model organized by the Mobile Figure Drawing Group. You must be 18 years or older to attend, and bring your own supplies. No experience required.

Mondays, 5:30 p.m. - 8 p.m. Instructor: Jenny Williams Mastered the basics of wheel throwing? Push your skills further with Instructor Jenny Williams in this intermediate level class. Students will practice advanced techniques for creating forms on the wheel, centering larger quantities of clay, and add clay components like lids, spouts, handles, and/or matching sets.

Select evenings, 5:30 - 8:30 p.m. Instructor: Jenny Williams This one-time experience allows you to spend some quality time with your bestie or significant other while learning and playing creatively in an intimate setting. Instructor Jenny Williams will guide partners in making small wheel pieces while learning introductory skills in wheel throwing.

Aliosky García Sosa will introduce participants to traditional woodcut printmaking techniques as practiced at Havana's Taller Experimental de Gráfica.

Thursdays, 5:30 p.m. - 7 p.m. Instructor: Colleen Comer In this 4-week workshop, artist Colleen Terrell Comer introduces participants the building blocks of visual art: mark making, composition and color. This course is structured to provide students with the skills and techniques necessary to create their own paintings and help develop their personal painting style.
