Artist Statement & Bio Workshop
Whether you are an amateur artist or an established professional, writing an artist statement can be an intimidating and overwhelming task. A good artist statement acts as a bridge between your intention and the viewers’ interpretation of the work, and can make an impact on the way your art is presented to the public. You might ask yourself… “What should my statement say about me? What should it say about my artwork? How long should it be? What if I am not a writer — can I still create a strong artist statement? Where do I start?
We will cover the essentials of statement writing and demystify the process while discussing the wants and needs of organizations, exhibitors, curators, and the general public.
This workshop will meet Saturday, March 23 from 11 am – 1 pm.
Registration is $30 or $20 for ACAC members
