Papermaking Senior Studio

Papermaking Senior Studio

January 17, 2018, 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Alabama Contemporary Art Center
301 Conti Street
Mobile, Alabama

In this two-hour mini-workshop, Back to Havana artist Daniel Rodriguez Garcia will guide participants through the steps of papermaking using recycled newspapers and other dated printed media. Participants’ handmade paper sheets will be used during the following Senior Studio class (Thursday, February 7) in a printmaking activity inspired by current events.

Senior Studio classes are tailored to suit the needs of seniors, and accommodate participants with low-vision and physical disabilities.

Senior Studio offers an opportunity for participants to explore art-making processes such as paper-making, molding clay, watercolor painting, and batik, and also encourages them to share ideas and build relationships with their community through art.

All studio art classes are led by professional artists and experienced educators.

AGE : 60+ | CAPACITY: 15 students | LENGTH: 2 hours | COST: $5 or FREE for members.
