Join us for the first Mobile Animation Film festival pre-screener of 2024! This screening of experimental and a little bit out there animated short films will feature 9+ national and international shorts in varying mediums.

Alabama Contemporary is Taking it to the Street! We are embarking on an ambitious redevelopment project that will ultimately make the contemporary art museum more sustainable, increase impact and generate more equitable opportunities for artists across the state of Alabama.
SUMMER CAMP – SOLD OUT
Ages 11-15
Instructor: Anne Hemphill Carr & Zak Todd
Get your hands dirty! Draw your own characters from scratch, learn the basics of sketching and illustration, then make it 3D. Campers will experiment with wheel throwing and create their own ceramic sculptures using clay.
Kindred Yoga will join us on the terrace at ACAC on the last Saturday morning of every month, from 9-10 a.m. This drop-in session will feature a 45-minute yoga flow followed by 15 minutes of mingling with fresh, cold-pressed juices for sale from Ginger & Spice.

The best of both worlds: campers will experience watercolor painting and make playful sculptures out of clay with local artists Tori Caldwell and Christy LeGros. Campers will create mixed media sculptures and take home their personalized stained glass, making memories that shine brightly all summer long!

Students will explore different art mediums, including portrait painting, collage, mixed media, watercolor, drawing, and movement with local artist Soynika Edwards-Bush.

This camp will focus on exploring emotions through theatrical exercises and creating fun costumes. Students will create their own authentic character, and imagine their wardrobe, make-up and staging.

Learn glass cutting and layering techniques while drawing inspiration from the world around you. No previous experience is necessary—come as you are!
Alabama Contemporary Art Center is open every second Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. with entry by donation for Downtown Mobile’s monthly LODA Artwalk, and we almost always have a special visitors, programs, exhibitions, and/or activities to celebrate creative thinking. The Member Bar is also available to our adult members during each Artwalk while they enjoy all artist talks, exhibitions, and programs.
