Using our exhibitions as a springboard, Alabama Contemporary hosts performances, activities, talks and public conversations throughout the year. Whether it’s a through a dance party or a panel discussion, we are interested in squeezing the most meaning in art (and life) as possible. Plus public programs are always free or discounted for members!
Alabama Contemporary is committed to collaborating with cultural, educational and civic partners as a means to promote community engagement, and encourages partner participation in public programs. Upcoming Programs
This drawing course led by local artist Anna-Marie Babington is a meditative and fun way to flex your people-sketching muscle while building community. Class will happen each Tuesday at 6 PM for 3 weeks starting on April 14, but is also open for drop ins at $25/night or $75 for all sessions.
Join us for the Art Yard Party, Alabama Contemporary’s Spring lawn party and fundraiser featuring food, games and libations. We’ll have carnival games, art activities, whimsical creatures, music and absurdist entertainment. Do points matter? Not really, but there will be prizes. All ages are welcome!
