Scoundrels in Art History

Aren’t artists the worst? Take a gander at art history; you’ll realize pretty quickly that good ole’ bad guys are all over the place. If you want to feed your inner hater, join Alabama Contemporary and Sophiella Gallery on Wednesday, August 13, for the second installment of our art history presentation series “Scoundrels in Art History”. We will be hosting a phenomenal panel of local community leaders to demystify and demonize some of the worst people in art history. Hear from local artists Colleen Comer and Soynika Edwards-Bush, and Central Presbyterian pastor Chris Bullock as they put these jerks on blast! Not done ragging on those dingbat artists? Stick around after the presentations for a discussion with the presenters moderated by the tap dancing queen of Mobile, Sydney Cramer.

Doors open at 6PM at Sophiella Gallery in downtown Mobile with presentations commencing at 6:30. As always, we will provide light refreshments, bar by donation and tunes by DJ Big Chef Mick.
