Artwalk: Glottogenesis

For July ArtWalk we’re bringing the heat with our first immersive installation in the Vault. Glottogenesis by Tansy Xiao is both an audiovisual installation and an activatable instrument, allowing for fluid, interchangeable roles between spectators and creators, while merging existing language with nascent language in the making.

The installation features a singing chamber with multiple voice inputs, dynamically analyzing language and sound in real time to create an ecosystem that is both embodied and ephemeral.

In the spirit of world building and interactive media, we’ll also have Diana Dyer’s multimedia glass and AR artworks, and dueling gaming systems in the pop-up gallery with Katamari Damacy and Mario Kart 64 available for visitors to compete and explore. Drop in AC Satellite at 561 Saint Francis St. from 6 to 9 pm on July 10 for beer and wine by donation while traversing virtual worlds.
