Recharge and refresh this holiday season and into the new year with Yoga at Alabama Contemporary

Participants will push the boundaries of what constitutes a collage, drawing inspiration from their environment and experiences to tell their own stories with an array of materials. No materials are off limits in this fun camp.

What is the difference between graffiti and street art? Why is public art important? How do artists get permission to create such colorful and lively scenes on public buildings and walls? Campers will discuss these questions and more before creating their own works inspired by street artists from Havana, Cuba...

Let your child explore the world of contemporary art through Alabama Contemporary Summer Camps! Inspired by the many printmaking techniques seen in the artwork of Back to Havana, campers will learn the basics of printmaking before exploring new applications such as monotypes, collographs and block prints.

Innovation and resourcefulness can be seen all over the island of Cuba as people and businesses solve everyday problems with the materials they have available. In the spirit of “doing more with less”, campers will collaborate on projects that utilize traditionally discarded and overlooked materials while learning how to be more environmentally responsible.

Hobo filmmaker/phototramp Bill Daniel is back on the road with a pop-up photo show comprised of 30 years of 35mm photographs beginning with the early 80s punk scene in Texas, featuring all of your favorite old school punk bands.
