Join us for a jazz-focused community conversation series with members of the Excelsior Band at our partner site, the Historic Avenue Cultural Center. These conversations are an opportunity to gather and share memories that revolve around the Avenue, jazz events and experiences in Mobile, and celebrate our musical history.
Join us for the Art Yard Party, Alabama Contemporary’s open house and fundraiser featuring food, games and libations. We’ll have a food truck, bouncy house, games and art activities by donation, whimsical creatures, and music. Do points matter? Not really, but there will be prizes. All ages are welcome!

During August Artwalk, Alabama Contemporary will be not not hosting a SUPER SECRET punk show at AC Satellite. Who’s the band? Good question. We’ll drop some flyers around Mobile, so keep your eyes peeled for answers. Show starts at 7:30pm. All ages welcome.
Join us at the home of artist Colleen Comer on Dog River in Mobile, Alabama, where we will break bread over what it takes to sustain a practice in the deep Deep South. Colleen will talk about her recent work, finding inspiration in imperfection, and feminine power in every day calamities/banalities. Tickets include dinner and drinks.
While parents and caregivers enjoy a a slow-flow yoga session with Kindred Yoga, Alabama Contemporary will facilitate art activities exploring themes in our exhibitions sited around the state.
