With mass cancellations and our doors closed we’ve had to rethink how we fulfill our mission\, and figure out new ways to meet the community where they are (which is stuck at home). We are starting by re-allocating funds for smal l commissions of artwork to send to people who need a little light in thei r life right now.\nPOSTCARDS FROM QUARANTINE\nPHASE ONE: Calling All Artis ts!  Artists from Mobile and Baldwin Counties are invited to participate in the campaign by submitting original artwork under the theme "We're all in this together". All submissions will be featured in a public virtual ga llery on the Alabama Contemporary website. Ten winning designs will be sel ected for printing and the winning artists will receive $150 each for thei r submission as well as a 10-pack of postcards featuring their design. Pos tcard designs must be submitted by midnight April 6th\, 2020.\nCHECK OUT T HE SUBMISSIONS \n \;\n\nPHASE TWO: Alabama Contemporary is taking vol unteers to write postcards to the community's most vulnerable residents: i ndividuals quarantined in nursing homes\, homeless shelters\, half-way hou ses and the like. Each volunteer will receive a list of 10 first names and 10 artist designed postcards\, all postage will be paid and ready to mail .
